Foundation Stage

'Getting back into the swing of things!'

Thursday, 4th September was an exciting day for our Foundation Two children.  A warm welcome awaited them on returning to their first day in the new school year.  Gleaming shoes, new uniforms and smiles adorned the unit.  We had a fantastic day and everyone (staff included!) went home very happy and tired!

Communication Friendly Spaces

On Monday, 1st September staff attended the Bury Early Years Conference.  The focus being on improving children's speaking and listening skills through friendly spaces.  The spaces we have provided have certainly been very popular with the children and speaking and listening skills are excellent.  The treasure boxes to encourage children to talk about their interests and holiday news are proving to be a very big hit!!

Foundation Bear and Mr. Roberts

We all know how much Mr. Roberts loves bears, so when he retired in July, the staff and children in the Foundation Unit presented him with 'Foundation Bear'.  We hope he will come back with his bears when we have our next Teddy Bears' Picnic.

What is in the box Mr. Roberts?                           It's a Bear!

Wow!  Look at his clothes                  I think we're going to be friends
