Centenary Celebrations
The 5th June heralded our 100th Birthday. We celebrated by putting together a museum with lots of old photographs and artefacts. We invited former members of staff and pupils and anyone with an association to the school to come to our Open Day. On 10th June the staff and children dressed up in Edwardian Costume and we were visited by the Mayor of Bury, Councillor Yvonne Creswell. The children of Cairo Class held an "anti-caning demonstration" with placards. We had fantastic feedback from all our visitors who said the event was brilliant and they really enjoyed meeting old colleagues. Former staff commented on how good the school is looking now. We are hoping to upload some of the old photographs onto our History Page in the near future, so please keep a look out for that.
